Manchester United Stun Man City with Dramatic Late Comeback

By : Lloyd Mahachi

Manchester United scored twice in the final three minutes to snatch a dramatic 2-1 victory over Premier League champions Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, deepening their rivals’ ongoing crisis.

City, who have now won just once in their last 11 matches—suffering eight defeats during this run—took the lead through Josko Gvardiol’s first-half header. However, United mounted a stunning late turnaround to claim all three points.

Fernandes and Diallo Seal Incredible Comeback

Rúben Amorim, in his fifth league match as United manager, secured just his second win thanks to late goals from Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo. Fernandes converted from the penalty spot to equalize before Diallo fired in the winner from a tight angle in the 90th minute.

The result leaves Manchester City in fifth place, nine points behind leaders Liverpool, who also have a game in hand. Meanwhile, Manchester United climbed to 12th, cutting the gap to their city rivals to just five points.

A Turning Point for United?

The victory provides a much-needed boost for Manchester United, who have struggled to find form under Amorim since his appointment last month. It also offers hope of reversing a rivalry that City have largely dominated over the past decade.

For City, the defeat piles further pressure on Pep Guardiola, whose side is now facing an uphill battle to defend their league title.

With momentum swinging in United’s favor after this thrilling comeback, both teams will be looking to respond as they approach a crucial phase of the season.
