Cyclone Chido, a powerful storm with winds exceeding 220 kilometers per hour, has left a trail of destruction across the French territory of Mayotte, as well as the neighboring islands of Madagascar and the Comoros. The cyclone ripped off metal roofs, demolished small buildings, and claimed at least 11 lives while injuring many others.

Mayotte bore the brunt of the storm, sitting directly in its path. However, the neighboring Comoros islands and Madagascar also experienced significant impacts.
