The European Union has made a big decision. It has recalled its ambassador from Niger’s capital, Niamey. This means the ambassador will go back to Brussels for talks. The reason for this decision is that there are tensions between the EU and Niger’s government. These tensions are about the help the EU is giving to people in Niger who were affected by floods.
The EU gave €1.3 million to help people in Niger. But Niger’s government was not happy about this. They said that the EU did not talk to them before giving the money. They also said that the EU gave the money to organizations without telling them. The EU did not agree with Niger’s government. They said that they always give help in a fair and independent way.
The EU wants to help people in Niger. They know that many people are suffering because of floods and other problems. But they also want to make sure that their help is given in a way that is fair and transparent. They do not want to get involved in politics. They just want to help people who need it.
This problem is not just about the EU and Niger. It is also about the bigger picture. Niger is a country in West Africa that is facing many challenges.
