In Mozambique, a country in Southern Africa, people are protesting against the government. The protests started after the government said who won the presidential election. The opposition candidate, Venâncio Mondlane, said the election was not fair. He told his supporters to protest against the result.

The protests are unique. Every night at 9 pm, people bang pots and pans in their homes. This is a way of protesting without going out onto the streets. However, the police still used force against the protesters. Many people have been killed, including children. One of the children killed was 16-year-old Antonio Juaqim. He was shot dead while banging pots and pans.

Antonio’s uncle, Manuel Samuel, said that Antonio was shot in the mouth. The bullet went through the back of his head. Samuel said that they saw videos from nearby shops of police shooting at protesters. The police say that they were defending themselves. However, many people believe that the police use too much force.

The protests in Mozambique are a sign of how unhappy people are with the government. Many young people are looking for jobs and a better life. They are not happy with the government’s promises. The government has been in power for 49 years. Many people want change.

The situation in Mozambique is very serious. Many people have been killed, and many more have been injured. The international community is calling for calm and restraint. The United Nations wants the government to stop the violence and to punish those responsible for the killings.

The people of Mozambique are waiting to see what will happen next. They want justice and peace. They want a better future for themselves and their children. The world is watching Mozambique, hoping that the situation will improve soon.
